GENERAL NURSING AND MIDWIFERY (GNM) The School of Nursing conducts the General Nursing and Midwifery Course, of three years duration. The course is recognized by the Haryana Nurses and Nurse- Midwives Council (HNN-MC) Panchkula Haryana and the Indian Nursing Council New Delhi with an intake of 30 seats.
  • Objectives
At the end of three years of study, the student is expected to :
  1. have the aptitude, knowledge and skill necessary for assessing nursing needs of the individuals throughout the life-cycle, families and communities;
  2. apply relevant knowledge from biological and behavioral sciences in planning and carrying out safe nursing care activities;
  3. co-operate with other members of the health team in the hospital or in the community in prevention of disease, promotion of health, restoration of health and rehabilitation; d) impart health knowledge to individuals and groups through health education;
  4. demonstrate skill in the use of problem solving methods in nursing practice;
  5. demonstrate ability to supervise and guide auxiliary personnel who are part of the nursing team;
  6. demonstrate understanding of and commitment to professional behaviour;
  7. Carry out the above in the true Christian spirit of service to fellowmen and be committed to the  welfare of our country.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Age Minimum and Maximum age for admission will be 17 and 35 years. There is no age bar for ANM/LHV candidates
 Minimum Education 1.      The applicant must have passed 10+2 Examination of board of school education Haryana or any examination recognized as equivalent there to with minimum 45% in aggregate marks (40% marks for the reserved category SC/ST). 2.      10+2 vocational ANM course recognized by Indian Nursing Council (INC), New Delhi. 3.       ANM training i.e. 10th pass plus one and half year training and should have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination. 4.      Age limit: 17-35 years, however the age limit of 17-35 years for in service ANM/LHV there is not applicable. 5.      Candidate must be medically fit and medical fitness certificate shall have to be produced at the time of admission.

Admission Procedure The admission to Three Years General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) course for female only Program will be made on the basis of merit list prepared on the basis of percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination. The merit list shall be prepared on the basis of marks calculated from 100 marks. The admission will be made by  online counseling and committee to be constituted as under: ·         Director of school management ·         Principal of the school of nursing ·         Representative of DGHS/DMER, Haryana. ·         Senior tutor of the school of nursing OR Through Director Medical Education Research (DMER) Haryana online admission- (Reservation for SC/ST) as per Haryana Government instructions.)

Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM Nursing)

Sardar Kartar Singh Hayer School of Nursing offers two year quality training program   of A.N.M. The course is recognized by the Haryana  Nurses and Nurse- Midwives Council (HNN-MC) Panchkula, Haryana  Nurses and the Indian Nursing. Council New, Delhi with an intake of 20 seats.

The Objectives of the Program

  • To help in understanding the principles of healthful living related to all age groups in the community.
  • To help society deal in basic health care activities in community and Institutional settings.
  • Importance of Nutrition and health education activities in the home, clinic and community.
  • Explain & understand basic material and child health care including immunization services, family health care, and family planning services.
  • Develop skills in first-aid and emergency nursing care, elementary medical care including treatment of minor ailments.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Eligibility for admission 1.      The minimum age for admission is 17 year before 31st December of the admission session. 2.      The maximum age for admission is 35 years 3.      The Candidates should have passed Intermediate (10+2) pattern or its equivalent recognized by HSSBE /CBSE/ICSE Boards 4.      Candidate must be satisfactory medically fit in medical examination report conducted by the College Hospital.

BASIC B.SC. NURSING ( FOUR YEAR COURSE)

The course of study combines the theory and the practice of nursing, with general education in the humanities and behavioral, biological, and physical science. These serve as a core for the development of the nursing major. The Nursing program offers students experience in major settings where health care is delivered. As a Nursing graduate, you have the greatest opportunity for advancement.  B.Sc. Nursing course is required for entry into a Master’s Degree in nursing program that prepares you for leadership, management and more independent roles, such as clinical nurse specialist, nurse practitioner, educator and researcher. The course is preferred and often required for military nursing, case management, public health nursing, overseas & development nursing, forensic nursing and school Nursing. Nursing training is a combination of theory and practical. During the period of training nursing students are given practical instruction by senior ward staff. Their work is organized and supervised by nurse-tutors. They also attend lectures by specialists in various fields of medicine and some days may be totally devoted to study and lectures on various aspects of medicine and nursing. During the training period students are posted  around all hospital attached with this college . Gradually they are entrusted with more responsibility so that the transition from training to taking full responsibility seems quite natural.

Fee Structure Rupees 70,000/ ( Seventy thousand only) Per Year.
Admission Procedure The admission to B. Sc Nursing Program will be made on the basis of the CET test conducted by Pt. BD. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak. 1. CET- Merit Ranking Conducted by Pt. B.D. Sharma University of  Health Sciences, Rohtak. 2. Merit based on percentage of marks in 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English.

Eligibility 1.      The applicant must have passed 10+2 exam of board of school education Haryana or any examination recognized as equivalent there to with minimum 45% in aggregate marks  and  diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course (3 yrs/3 ½ years duration) approved by Indian Nursing Council and registered in State Nursing Council. 2.      Minimum Age limit: 17 years before 31st December of the admission session. 3.      Candidate must be medically fit and medical fitness certificate shall have to be produced at the time of admission.

Admission Procedure The admission to PB. B. Sc Nursing Program will be made on the basis of the CET test conducted by Pt. BD. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak. 1.
